Isabella Skatepark Set to Open in Blyth – Join Us for the Grand Opening

Exciting news for the skateboarding community in Blyth! A brand-new, purpose-built skatepark is set to open at Ogle Drive, providing a dedicated space for skaters of all abilities to practice, socialise, and enjoy their sport. The official opening event will take place on Saturday, 8 February, marking a significant milestone for the town’s growing skate scene.

A Celebration for the Community

The grand opening will be a lively celebration, welcoming skaters, families, and community members to experience the park for the first time. The event will feature talented skateboarders offering demonstrations and hands-on coaching. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced skater, you’ll have the opportunity to try out the new facilities, with skateboards and helmets available to borrow.

To mark the occasion, attendees can also enter a £50 Range Voucher prize draw, giving one lucky winner the chance to upgrade their skate gear. Food and refreshments will be available throughout the event at the nearby Isabella Community Centre where a dedicated overflow car park has been created especially for users of the skatepark

More Opportunities to Skate

Following the grand opening, skaters will have additional chances to try out the park during Exploration Days on Wednesday, 26 and Friday, 28 February hosted by Shred the North. These sessions will offer further opportunities for newcomers to get familiar with the park and connect with other skaters in the community. There's no need to book, you can just come along.

A Project for the Future

Isabella Skatepark is the result of a collaborative effort between Blyth Town Council and Northumberland County Council, designed and constructed by Wheelscape Ltd with support from Shred the North.

Intended to offer a dynamic and inclusive environment, the skatepark is expected to become a key attraction for young people in the area.
