Raising of the Flag
đź“Ť Location: Town Centre & Ridley Park
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM
The VE Day flag will be raised in the Town Centre and Ridley Park, accompanied by a reading of the proclamation at Ridley Park. Everyone is welcome to attend this short but significant ceremony, which will last approximately 10–15 minutes.
Ringing of the Church Bells
📍 Location: St Cuthbert’s Church
⏰ Time: 6:30 PM
The bells of St Cuthbert’s Church will ring out across the town in tribute to this historic day.
Lighting the Beacon
đź“Ť Location: Blyth Seafront, Dave Stephens CentreÂ
⏰ From: 7:00 PM
- 7:00 PM: Live music begins
- 8:30 PM: Royal British Legion Blyth Service
- 9:30 PM: Lighting of the Beacon
This special evening will include a commemorative service and the symbolic lighting of the beacon to honor the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
